About Me
How does your role allow you to make a special impact on the Public Safety groups?
"Our job as EP's (Exercise Physiologists) is to make sure our public safety groups feel safe and comfortable throughout their physicals. It is important to me to be able to present as much information as possible so our patients understand the diagnostic tests they will be performing in order to get through the physical as smoothly as possible. Our area of expertise covers health-related physical fitness components (ex. cardiorespiratory endurance, body composition, muscular strength, muscular endurance, flexibility) and skill-related physical fitness components (ex. agility, coordination, balance, power, reaction time, and speed), which can be discussed during an EP session based on the individual's needs. These components are vitally important for our public safety groups due to the physical demands of their job."
Describe some unique strengths and expertise that allow you to overcome common challenges within your role.
"Having effective communication is important to overcoming challenges in an EP role, I believe it is also important to be an active listener at the same time in order to accommodate the patient's needs and concerns during their visit. Providing compassion, patience, and empathy goes a long way, and is equally important as our public safety groups go through their extensive physical."
What do you do for fun during your downtime?
"During my downtime I enjoy spending time with my loved ones, exercising, listening to music and podcasts, and watching sports. It's these things that help me wind down throughout the week and weekend."
